The Best Deploy and CI/CD Skills for Claude Code

2026-10-17

Deployment is where an agent's mistakes are most expensive. Every skill in this list is judged by one thing: does it verify the deploy before claiming success?

Our deploy category is small but unusually high-scoring — the 11 skills here average around 9.0. That is partly selection: infrastructure skills that survive publication tend to be written by people who have been paged at 3am.

The skills worth installing

terraform-engineer — 9.4 · Developer Tools

Infrastructure as code across AWS, Azure, and GCP. Plan/apply discipline, state management, and module structure. The highest-value property is that Terraform has a verification step built into the tool — terraform plan — and a good skill leans on it.

vercel-optimize — 9.4 · Data & Analytics

Vercel cost and performance optimization on deployed projects. Unusual for the category: it works on a live deployment rather than generating configuration. If your bill or cold-start latency is the problem, this is the specific tool.

devops-engineer — 9.2 · Developer Tools

Dockerfiles, CI/CD pipelines, and Kubernetes manifests. The broad generalist — the one to install if you have no idea which specific skill you need.

replica-deploy — 9.1 · Productivity

Ships an app live on your own domain with a preflight gate that runs tests before deployment. Notable because the verification step is explicit and blocking rather than advisory — which is exactly the property most deploy skills lack.

kubernetes-specialist — 9.0 · Developer Tools

Kubernetes workloads: deployments, services, config, and the operational details that break in production. Specialist, and worth it only if K8s is actually your target.

deploy-to-vercel — 8.4 · Productivity

A narrow, single-purpose deploy skill for Vercel. Lower score, but low surface area — it does one thing and does not pretend otherwise.

vercel-cli-with-tokens — 8.4 · Developer Tools

Token-based Vercel CLI automation, aimed at CI rather than interactive use. Choose between this and deploy-to-vercel based on whether a human is running it.

The verification question

Every deploy skill should answer: what happens when the deploy fails? The good ones run tests or a preflight check first, and report the step that broke. The weaker ones assume success and stop.

replica-deploy is the clearest example of the former, and it is worth reading its preflight design even if you use a different deployment target — the pattern transfers.
