The HyperFrames Family — Ten Skills, One Video Pipeline, Scores From 5.7 to 9.7
The highest concentration of high scores in our video category comes from a single author. That's not a coincidence, and it's not favoritism — it's what happens when one person designs skills as a system instead of as ten separate files.
HyperFrames is a programmatic video framework: you describe compositions in code, and it renders them. Around this framework, one author has shipped ten skills to our directory, and together they form a complete pipeline — from capturing a website, through animation and media, to the CLI loop that ties it together.
Nine of the ten score 8.7 or above. Here's the family, in pipeline order.
The system, in pipeline order
website-to-video — 9.5 · Video
The front door: capture a general website or URL and turn it into a HyperFrames composition. This is the "I have a product page and want a demo video" path, and it's the reason the rest of the family exists.
hyperframes-core — 9.5 · Video
The composition contract — how to build one renderable thing correctly. The load-bearing skill: if the agent misunderstands the composition model, everything downstream breaks. It scores 9.5 because the contract is stated as constraints with reasons, not as a feature list.
hyperframes-animation — 9.4 · Video
All animation knowledge for the framework, expressed as atomic motion rules. "Atomic" is the operative word — rules that compose, rather than named recipes that don't.
hyperframes-media — 9.5 · Video
Audio and media assets for compositions. The unglamorous half of video that most people forget until render time.
hyperframes-cli — 9.7 · Video
The dev loop: running npx hyperframes, iterating, rendering. Highest score in the family. Workflow skills that encode a tight iteration loop score consistently well in our data — the skill tells the agent what "done" looks like and how to check it.
remotion-to-hyperframes — 9.7 · Video
Port an existing Remotion (React) composition to HyperFrames. A migration skill — the rarest kind in our directory, because migrations require the skill author to understand two systems and the mapping between them.
hyperframes-creative — 9.2 · Video
The creative-direction skill: what to make, not just how to make it.
hyperframes-registry — 8.7 · Video
Publishing to the registry. The tail of the pipeline.
hyperframes — 8.9 · Video
The general entry point that routes to the others.
The one that didn't
svg-character-animation — 5.7 · Video
Character animation via SVG manipulation. The outlier at 5.7 — a 3.8-point gap from its siblings. We keep it in the directory deliberately: it's a useful reference point for what a missing system looks like. The skill describes character rigging in SVG but doesn't state its own scope boundaries, doesn't say what happens outside its happy path, and gives the agent no way to verify that an animation is renderable before committing to it. Every one of its siblings does at least one of those things.
That gap — 9.7 versus 5.7 within one author's own family — is more evidence for something we've written about before: category averages tell you about authors, not categories. Skill quality is a property of how each file was written, not of who wrote the neighboring files.
Why families work
Three things this family does that single-skill authors routinely miss:
- Each skill has a non-overlapping job. Core ≠ CLI ≠ animation ≠ media. The routing skill (
hyperframes, 8.9) exists to point at the others. When we see five skills from one author all describing the same capability in different words, none of them score well — the boundaries are blurred, and the agent can't tell which one to load. - The pipeline is the documentation. You can reconstruct the entire workflow — capture, compose, animate, add media, iterate, port, publish — from the skill descriptions alone. No external README required.
- Constraints over features. The composition contract skill states what breaks a render, not just what the API offers. In our six-dimension scoring, "workflow design" is the second-strongest predictor of overall score, and it's exactly this property.
Installing
If you produce videos with an agent, the practical entry points are website-to-video (if the source is a site) or hyperframes-cli (if you're already writing compositions). The full video category in our directory covers the rest — 60+ skills from text-to-video generation to podcast production.
